[Lecture] Miho Konishi Delivered a Lecture at Waseda University Art School in 2024
On Monday, December 9th, from 7:55 PM to 9:35 PM, our lighting designer, Miho Konishi, gave a lecture at the Waseda University Art School, an evening educational institution of Waseda University.
This lecture was part of the Waseda University Art School curriculum and continued from last year. It focused on the work of lighting designers, exploring how “light” serves as an essential element in creating spatial experiences.
Approximately 45 participants attended the lecture.
Under the theme “The Work of a Lighting Designer,” we began the lecture by presenting the contrasting perceptions of light in Japanese and Western architecture and art.
The lecture covered a wide range of topics, including the responsibilities of lighting designers, tools of the trade, and more. During the project case study section,
we introduced ongoing projects, such as the Bahrain Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, set to be completed in March 2025.
After the lecture, a 20-minute Q&A session was held, during which attendees asked various questions, including inquiries about the effects of light.
