Lighting design for Bahrain Pavilion -3 – Well-being lighting (2)
In this issue, the lighting design of the Bahrain Pavilion is presented.
Proceeding inside from the pavilion entrance leads to the atrium, a four-storey atrium.
The atrium is surrounded by natural light and the soft glow of circadian lighting. It is a safe and welcoming space that feels like a womb.
It is a wellbeing light space where you can feel rich and happy.
The lighting in the atrium is timer-controlled and the colour and brightness of the light changes from morning to night.
During the day, visitors are welcomed with a refreshing blue-white light, while at night the warm light creates a relaxing atmosphere and sends visitors on their way home.
The exhibition space will feature displays on Bahrain’s history as a trading port, its culture, economic strength, sustainability and innovation.
Lighting is provided by duct rail and spotlights, which can be flexibly adjusted according to the content of the exhibition.
The lighting throughout the pavilion is a combination of DALI and PWM control, with a finely tuned control circuit for various patterns of lights on, lights off and dimming.
RGB underwater lighting is installed on the external water table to create the appearance of the pavilion in red and white, the colours of the Bahraini flag, as well as the image colours of Azrul.
At night, the beautiful lights of the illumination will bring the entire pavilion to life.
The Bahrain Pavilion is a space where tradition and innovation merge, providing visitors with a sensory immersive experience. We hope that the lighting design will contribute to this and encourage people to think about what a happy life means to them.
